Top 10 Must-Have Items for Your Next Camping Trip
Share
Let's talk about camping gear. It doesn't matter whether you're packing for your first adventure, or you're already a seasoned camper. One thing is certain - the gear you've chosen can make or break your trip. Can there really be a balance between style and functionality? We believe so, and we may have some of the things that you'll need.
We've compiled a list of 10 essentials for your next camping trip that will get you prepared, comfortable, and looking really cool around the campfire.
1. Lightweight, Durable Tent
This is the most obvious one. Remember you will need to carry this along with everything else, so aim for something lightweight. However, it also needs to be durable enough to withstand rain, wind, hail, and bears. Well, that last one might be a bit difficult to achieve. Look for one that is easy to set up unless you want to wrestle with poles and stakes after hours of walking up a mountain.
2. Insulated Sleeping Bag
Depending on the weather conditions of your camping spot and the time of year, you'd need to pick the best sleeping bag for the occasion. The nights in the wilderness can be quite cold, so keeping warm is essential for a good night's sleep.
3. Multi-Tool
Whether you need to cut up an apple or crack open a bottle (priorities), a good multi-tool is a must. A multi-tool is, after all, a camper's best friend.
4. Stylish T-Shirts for the Outdoors
Of course, your camping wardrobe deserves some attention, too. You’ll need t-shirts that can handle the great outdoors while keeping you looking good. Our nature-inspired t-shirts fit the bill perfectly. Made from breathable, durable fabrics, these tees will keep you comfortable while hiking, setting up camp, or just relaxing by the fire.
Choose from designs featuring majestic animals like deer, eagles, and bears, or opt for vintage camping scenes that capture the spirit of adventure. Not only will you feel great, but you’ll also get compliments from your camping buddies (and maybe even a passing squirrel or two).
5. Portable Camp Stove
Unless you are a seasoned camper with vast experience of cooking with whatever you can find in the wild, you'll need a camp stove. It's great for whipping up a meal or boiling water for coffee or tea without the need to maintain a fire.
6. Footwear
Choose a pair that is renowned for its durability, support and resilience. And make sure the sole will be hard enough so you don't feel the rocks, but also flexible for comfort. I can't stress enough how important good footwear is. If you don't take care of your feet, you might get in trouble especially when you have a long way back to civilization.
7. Mug
There is nothing like watching the sunrise with your coffee in your hand, or the sunset with wine in your hand. An enamel mug is the ultimate classic for any hiking or camping trip. Our collection of enamel mugs features colourful nature-inspired prints. They’re sturdy enough to survive a tumble on the trail, they are stylish, and they can be used for a lot more than just containing a drink.
8. Headlamp or lantern
This may also be an obvious one, but also a necessity we can't omit from this list. The sun will go down, and you will need light. Even if you have a campfire, nature will call. One thing, though. Some things are attracted by light. By that I mean insects.
9. Water filter
Hydration, hydration, hydration. For a multi-day trip, it is not ideal to carry litres of water. The most practical thing is to bring a water filter that will allow you to refill your water bottle from streams along the way without being too worried about how safe it is to drink.
10. First Aid Kit
Last but certainly not least: a first aid kit. Accidents happen, so you must be prepared. In the mountains, you don't have immediate access to healthcare, so never go without your first aid kit packed with bandages, painkillers, antiseptic cream, plasters, and personally, I'd include anything you can find for treating blisters.
